when the rats and roaches appear you might get motivated or you might just have a few more beers and a slice of that leathery pizza on the couch.

Find the liqueur cabinet amongst the debre and have a couple of stiff jiggers,m then when it takes affect, you will either feel like taking on the task or saying "AHH!" "Screw it!" " I think I'll call someone because I don't drink alone!"

I think it is better to make a list room by room. Put some tunes on your phone or computer and listen to that while you work. This helps me a lot while i am cleaning my room. Then pretty much in the mood to clean up and cleaning is very easy and we do not have lazy while works every time.

Personally, all I do is have a big playlist of my favorite music. Put on some socks and skate around a bit while grabbing cleaning supplies lol. Then pretty much im in the mood to clean up and sing as well. Works everytime.

There's nothing like having company on the way to make one want to get things ship-shape; you could even just pretend you have company on the way...

Make a list.
Put some tunes on your phone or iPod, TV, or computer and listen to that while you work. This helps me a lot
Promise yourself a little reward afterwards, like a glass of wine and a movie or a hot bubble bath and ice cream
Start with the hardest task first, then slowly make your way down the list to the easiest task, take a shower (a nice reward, plus it gets the grime off of you)
Enjoy your reward

Grab the broom and sweep. This isn't rocket science.

First, the most important thing if you want a clean and neat house is to make putting things away after use second nature.

Then work some extra hours or get a part time job. Use the money to pay someone to clean your house for you.

Think about asking friends around to your home for a few drinks --coffee what ever ---and want to make everything lovely for them-light candles --would you want to go to a bath room that was dirty just make your home lovely---put your music on get out the dusters have fun then invite friends around and be proud of your home.

I agree with Leslie. I make a list room by room. I blast fast moving music or wear my iPod. I check off when I get something done. It may take a few days. I always do the thing I least want to do first to get rid of it.

I make a list. I always feel so much more productive when I check something off, ha ha.

I can't say for you but for me it's a matter of choosing one room and blasting some good music, usually something upbeat that can keep me from getting discouraged and just work at it until it's clean and move on. seems to make it less of a chore and it helps to think of the end result and how nice it will look. I'm not much of a cleaner myself, I'm horrible at keeping up with it and my kitchen can get into an awful wreck whenever my dad is over, making it just seem like an impossible task, but this makes an hour of work on any part of my house seem like mere minutes. my sister likes to make lists that she can check down and do it in stages, it really depends on your personality, are you looking for spotless clean or just healthy clean, yes there is a difference. either way music helps and working out what cleaning methods work best for you. If you like quick and easy, try looking into steamers, wonderful little things that do multiple jobs quickly and make cleaning so fast. if that's something that would interest you then look up mcculloch steam. Hope you find the way that works for you but don't get discouraged if none of these work, it's trial and error to find your own cleaning groove that's dependent on anything from lists to music to just finding the right cleaners and tools for the jobs you need done. Good luck.
