assuming you mean 3 * sqrt(x-24) = 6
3*(x-24) = 6 ---->square both sides
9(x-24) = 36
x-24=4
x=28

or is that:
3√(x - 24) = 6
if so, then:
√(x - 24) = 2
x - 24 = 4
x = 28
it depends if the "-24" is under the radical or not.
