I smelled blood while eating meat from chipotle, is it safe?

it was steak btws, it scared me and I spat it out, (with all the ecoli scares and all since I don't know how meat works better safe than sorry). So I want to know for future reference is it ok to smell blood in meat?

IT's not really blood, but intra-cellular juices, which are also red like blood.

Actually the e-coli probably came from the tomatoes.
