as a chef i would say no. not sure wth brown bread is never heard of it. if your meant rye bread which is brown then yea but there are different breads that are brown in color. also that sandwich needs meat the ONLY vegetarian sandwiches i do see ALL contain things such as mushrooms mostly portabella/portabello's or maybe a falaffle which idk wth that is since no where here even sells those. if you got portabella mushrooms basted them with the chili sauce then grilled it and toasted the bread, caramelized the onions in butter for flavor, and maybe like roman lettuce or something it would sound tastier but the chili sauce needs to be a little sweet. i had a sandwich in san francisco outside the ferry building they serve it in i think a ciabatta bread ( kind of hard as fk to me it will definetly cut your mouth ), they put in micro greens, i think some chopped up cabbage or lettuce, some onion jam i think they make themselves which is cold, and some hot pork they roast on a roatisserie it is pretty damn good. the store is still their btw every sunday or saturday outside. so you can do onion jam as well
