i try to...im sure ive missed some along the way...and i have been awarded so many...but as a rule yes

Have not been chosen as best answer for a very long time and this is mainly because of the way in which Y/A has been changed - instead of us here in UK being able to go to a UK/Ireland - instead we find ourselves on the same link as the Americans.

I have in unique cases, but I think it generally displays a bit of pomp doing so... like at school when kids would go "Thank youuuu..." when someone would say something they agree with.
Most of the time I just enjoy it silently as a sign of humility.

No because obviously if I am sound enough of mind to leave an answer then I believe it to be the best. If some person I do not know chooses my answer to be the best then that is only their opinion. If they need to me thank them for agreeing with them then their question was flawed as they require my approval for having that view.
If you post a question on YA then you must expect that the majority of responders will find a way to disagree and attack the questioner. If I agree with the point someone makes I will support it but not expect thanks for doing so. Similarly if I post a question I will accept all answers, good or bad and not praise or chastise those commenting.
If you post something here it is your opinion/question. You must therefore accept what comes your way in response. There is no need to thank those who agree with you or slate those who do not.
