What are some simple dinner meals to cook for someone who never cooks?

I'm an 18 year old college kid. I have the privilege of being able to live at home for free while I attend college but I want to contribute by cooking dinner some nights.
But I have no idea how to cook. Like i don't know how to season anything, how to time foods so all the food finishes cooking at one time (like the sides and the main meal). I don't know anything.
What are some simple, yet tasty dinner meals to cook for a beginner? Don't need full recipes, just titles but if you want to give me full recipes and/or instructions please email me. Thank you :)
P.S. I have a 7 year old brother so nothing too exotic.

Simple dinners that both adults and kids enjoy are pizza, hamburger, cheese burgers, quesadillas, tacos and you can always make breakfast for dinner. Pancakes wrapped around breakfast sausage makes a fine dinner. Tuna casserole is a simple dinner and to get kids to eat it, top it with crushed potato chips which also add great flavor.

Most children like pasta dishes and learning by seeing is the best way. Try this Youtube recipe for baked Ziti. The only change I would make is to add your favorite jarred pasta sauce instead of the plain tomato sauce. Serve the ziti with a salad and a baguette or Italian bread. Some sorbet and Gelato and a few cookies (all store bought) would be a good dessert.

Got a crock pot (also known as a slow cooker)---lots of simple recipes...put in a roast, potatoes (cut into quarters), carrots, an onion, mushrooms, add water to partially cover...several hours later dinner.

Biscuits and gravy...yeah it's breakfast food, but delicious anytime...lots of easy recipes online...but for extra easy go with canned biscuits

Get the easy cookbook "A Man, A Can, A Plan".

When I was a young teenager, many moons now past, I was also a college student................but I had some knowledge of what my mom and gran taught me as a youngster. This was not good enough, I enrolled in a basic cooking course two nights a week at college for six months. I enjoyed it that much that I took the little more advanced course, which at the end of it surprised even me what I could dish up out of basics.

Think about it.

I took a cooking course at my local community college. You can take one as an elective.

Simple meals are cooking a starch, a veg or two and a protein. So you could cook some rice, make a stir fry of some beef strips and broccoli.
Or bake some potatoes, bake some pork chops covered with sauerkraut or mushroom soup and serve some peas or a green salad.
Or make a casserole like one of these: http://www.countryliving.com/food-drinks/g1279/casserole-dinner-recipes/

You can borrow cookbooks from your college library or your village library to help you get started. This is a skill you'll be able to use for the rest of your life. Good for you for wanting to learn and helping out your family.

The way to learn to cook is to just jump right in.

Start simple, and try more complicated things later.

Learning to cook is a good idea- you save money, and you are in control of your own food and what is in it.

cooking finish is a matter of practice!! the more you cook the easier it is to get the whole dinner on the table at one time.
as to how to season foods you need either a good cook book like Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book or a good website to print out some recipes from. Websites I recommend are
