Why is the old saying "girls mature faster than boys" associated as something true?

I find the old saying very sexist and a complete lie since I know many girls my age who sure as hell aren't more mature than me, not saying all girls are immature though

This is so dang true. I'm in high school, and in my school, guys like to joke about things from Hitler to The Great Wall of Trump. Women don't find these topics funny. Lots of men joke about topics that could get them suspended.

On average girls mature earlier than boys. That doesn't mean that every girl matures earlier than every boy.

It is sexist but it was made in a time were sexism was very huge in the country such as women rights, and all, but times have changed and you know what's true and what's just a belief, and that is one of them. It means nothing btw.

Stop being such butt hurt little boys. Girls usually DO mature faster than boys, it's even been scientifically proven.
