So, I'm trying to make an equilateral triangle and I tried to use a circular saw set to 30 degrees but it cut a 60 degree angle. How would I make a 30?

If you don't know how to use a miter gauge then you should not be using power tools.

An equilateral triangle DOES have 60 degree angles. Seems that's what you want.

It's hard to respond to your question without a diagram showing your set up, what the piece of wood looks like, and how the saw cuts.
Turn the wood 90 degrees.

Most saws and guides have limits of 45 degrees. That's because it relies on the use of complementary angles. You can turn and flip your material to get the cuts you want.
