How to get tomato sause out of a shirt?

The best thing for tomato based stains is to hang the shirt in the sun for a few days as the sun will remove it entirely.

I swear by Dawn dish washing liquid for oil based food stains.

Dawn removes crude oil from feathered wildlife (birds) after oil spills in the ocean. After seeing that, I always use Dawn to clean all grease/oil based stains. It never fails.

Pour it straight on the stain, allow to rest for a few minutes, rub with a wet white cloth and rinse with cold water. The stain should disappear.

Please tell me u have not put this item in the dryer! A lot of stains will come out with regular spot carpet cleaner, not the kind u use in a machine. Rub it into stain by hand and see if stain lightens. If it does, start washer and apply more carpet cleaner and rub it in. This should do the trick.

Try squirting some rubbing alcohol on the spots. The rubbing alcohol may bleach some of the color out of the shirt, but it still looks a lot better than tomato sauce stains.
