I have a question about being fired from a job.?

When i was working at macs in November they fired me over phone cards and a customer buying me a pack of smokes i didnt know about or ask for. But i gave the smokes back to her. Is that a legall fire in Ontario

All firing is legal unless it's done for discriminatory purposes. You don't give details about the phone cards, but it sounds like you are having trouble drawing lines.

If by "phone card issue" you mean "fraud", yes of course they can fire you. As for smokes, if you're not allowed to receive gifts from customers and do, then yes, of course they can fire you.

In Ontario, you can be fired in the first three months on probation for anything, including sucking at your job, which you clearly did.

Sounds like you deserved it and yes they can and did.

I see you mentioned the smokes but you left out the phone card issue

Employers can fire you for any reason or no reason.

no it's not and you need to file a claim with the labor board for wrongful dismissal
