My Apple iPhone 5s s battery dies very fast, in an hour or less and it gets boiling hot! Ever since updating I think..?
It is a brand new battery (third in fact) because I thought it was to do with the battery but apparently it s a software update fault. I ve read to back-date the update on the phone to iOS 8.4 but I can t because it comes with an error about "firmware comparability".. Anyone able to help? And I ve tried 9.0 update etc and not allowing me to back date.
Thanks

My iphone 6 did a similar thing after an update; something got corrupted in the process and it was getting hot & flattening itself very quickly..
To fix it, do a backup (or two) on itunes.
Press and hold both power and home - do not release then at the apple logo as for a normal reset, keep holding them.
After another 10 - 20 seconds you should get a "Connect to itunes" screen.
At that point, connect it and itunes will do a full install of all the operating system firmware.
Once that's complete, it will set up as a new phone. As you go through that you will have the option to restore from an itunes backup - select the one you just saved.
Going through that completely cured mine, it's back to lasting days.
Obviously someone screwed up the battery install, mine never gets hot.
