Does my puppy have parvo?

Vets are open 24/7 including holidays so there goes that excuse.

He's suppose to eat dog food and nothing else, except water.

Diarrhea is not pooping normally. Puppies can dehydrate very quickly and die.

Find a vet and take it in asap.

You can't treat anything without a proper diagnosis which only a vet can do by examining it, bring in a fresh fecal specimen.

Home remedies often don't work and can exacerbate the condition.

Your dad is wrong, turn the dog into a shelter/rescue where it will get the care it needs and possibly a home that Really Cares and don't get another pet.

Take the dog to a vet. If its parvo then you can either be cheap and cruel and let the dog die at home, have it put down or pay to have it quarantined and treated properly at the vet.

Dogs with Parvo will have awful, bloody diarrhea. They won't eat dog food nor anything else. They are extremely sick. Your dog is eating (dog food) and is pooping normally. It sounds like either "empty stomach vomiting" or like he's eaten something that disagreed with him. If it's empty stomach vomiting, what you do is to give a light meal at bedtime. That generally stops it. If your dog begins to throw up and not eat anything or develops diarrhea and starts to ack sick, then you have no choice but to get him seen. I work for a vet and we were open today.

Your dad is guessing. Some things require vet assistance before they get too far along. If he's eating and drinking, and doesn't get more 'down', keep an eye on him.
