Don't be a pretentious douche and name your guitar anything.
As soon as you think of naming your guitar, no one will EVER take you seriously as a musician.
Naming your guitar is for posers only.
I have been playing guitar for 46 yrs and never met one douche in all my years of pro playing who had a name for his guitar.

I name all of my instruments! Some of them I've named after musical terms. For example, my trumpet's name is forte, which means loud (the trumpet is a loud instrument, as you can imagine). Others I named after great musicians or musicians I liked. Some I named after people I know and love or have passed away. Some of which I named after my role models (doesn't have to be a music role model, thoughsome are). Some I even named after the person who taught me the instrument! Really, it all just depends. But these are a few ideas!

You give it a name if you are personally attached to it and the name has some meaning to you.

If you have to run a popularity poll for a name, you are not as attached to it as you may think. Skip the popularity poll. If it has a name, it will come to you.

Why do you need to name your guitar? It's a guitar, not your daughter

I myself have never named any of my guitars but I would give it a name that meant something to me. Your mother's name. The name of your first love or the girl that you never connected with but still think of years later. An actress or model that you really like. Or forget all that and give it a name that describes the guitar, starburst, fast neck, wailer, light weight, the professional or whatever applies. To address another comment it does seem a little pretentious to name your guitar but nobody will mind IF you can play.
