Eggs DO NOT contain salmonella. The SHELLS do. The risk is low, but due to all the problems in the poultry industry lately, why take the chance?
Meats however have a different issue. Can meats be eaten raw? Yes. Ever hear of steak tartare? Practically however, they should be cooked to a certain temperature, depending n the meat in question.

eggs don't have meat. they have a clear part called the egg white, and a yellow part called the yolk. yes they can make you sick if you eat them raw.

Fresh eggs can be eaten raw (Mayo, for example contains raw egg)
and some meat and fish can too .. but again, it HAS to be fresh.

Yes, it may be dangerous sometimes. There are many disease found in raw meats, and they differ according to the source, whether it be mammalian, poultry or seafood.

it is easier to act as though they are. pork, chicken, turkey need to be cooked but beef and duck can be eaten raw, and lamb a bit pink. Eggs? Meringue isn't really cooked, just dried egg. To be safe, though, I don't eat raw meat

yes

CAN they? Yes. Chances are it won't happen though. Been consuming raw eggs most of my life. Rare steaks, (pretty much raw in the middle), is quite common. I'd be very wary of trying to eat raw chicken though.

Not inherently. Most (or all) cultures consume some type of either raw meat or eggs. Meat or eggs that have not been handled and prepared correctly for raw eating can be unsafe though.

Fairly low chance of salmonella with eggs (1 in 10,000) - meat (beef) can be consumed raw if fresh and the source is known to be safe - but not ground meat that is too risky.

They can be. Very fresh meat can be safe to eat raw - beef tartare, fresh oysters, and sushi are examples of that. However, stuff bought from a grocery store usually is not fresh enough, and thus is not safe to eat without cooking it.

It could. It may contain salmonella.
