Is my therapist allowed to tell my Mom about my disorder?

I know I have social anxiety, depression, maladaptive daydreaming and severe OCD. I haven't been diagnosed but I know I have it because my life as been completely ruined by these disorders.
Basically, I'm planning to go to a therapist to get diagnosed and treated soon, but would the doctor be allowed to tell my family about me?
I really don't want them to know because they are super judgmental about people with mental disorders. They don't believe mental illness is real.

I'm 20, so is the doctor allowed to tell them if I say no?

Not really but if doctor is prescribing a med someone else may be able by looking at your med to guess what you are suffering from.

you're 20 and you're legal, so only you have the right to know anything health related about yourself. Everything you say is confidential and cannot be shared with anyone else.

You are an adult now. The therapist does not have any authority to disclose what you tell them. BUT, make sure you let them realize you don't want anything disclosed to anyone else, including your parents.
