Which dogs can't and can have chocolate?
I heard that some dogs can have chocolate and others can't. I have a Shitzu puppy (and I want to be careful with what he'll eat when he gets bigger), a German Sheperd, and a mix. Can someone give me a list of the dogs that can and can't have chocolate?

Chocolate is poisonous to all dogs. However, the result of a dog ingesting chocolate will greatly vary based on the type of chocolate and size of the dog. Milk chocolate contains very little actual chocolate, as it is mostly made of milk and sugar, so it would take a lot more of it to kill a dog. Dark chocolate, especially Baker's or some sort of artisanal chocolate bar would be a lot more harmful.
No dog should have chocolate, but there is no need to freak out if you drop a chocolate chip on the floor and your dog eats it.
The size of the dog and the type of chocolate depends on how sick the dog could get.
1.Milk Chocolate – Mild signs of toxicity can occur when 0.7 ounces per pound of body weight is ingested; severe toxicity occurs when two ounces per pound of body weight is ingested (or as little as one pound of milk chocolate for a 20-pound dog).
2.Semi-Sweet Chocolate – Mild signs of toxicity can occur when 0.3 ounce per pound of body weight is ingested; severe toxicity occurs when one ounce per pound of body weight is ingested (or as little as six ounces of semi-sweet chocolate for a 20-pound dog).
3.Baking Chocolate – This type of chocolate has the highest concentration of caffeine and theobromine. Therefore, as little as two small one-ounce squares of baking chocolate can be toxic to a 20-pound dog (or 0.1 ounce per pound of body weight).
Chocolate contains a substance called Theobromine, and dogs can't flush that out of their liver - so it causes liver failure.
There is no list of dogs that can safely eat chocolate, just dont give it to them at all. There are better safe treats. Dogs are just as happy with a raw carrot stick.
No dog should be given chocolate.
Chocolate is poisonous to all dogs, some more than others. I wouldn't risk it. Dogs are notorious for their sweet tooth however so it might be a bit hard. Their digestive system just can't handle it
I've heard it's more the size of the dog than the breed. Bigger dogs can get away with bigger pieces. But I wouldn't give ANY period.
