I woke up and my tongue and uvula were extremely swollen. What the heck is going on?

Details that might help: I recently had surgery, on Monday in fact and therefore had a breathing tube down my throat. I've also noticed I've been waking up with a dry mouth almost every night since. I don't want to jump to conclusions and scare myself into think I have oral thrush. The swelling has gone down quite a bit since I've been awake. I'm sure I'm fine but I just wanted to get some opinions, and suggestions.
