The Catholic Church has basically legitimized the Bible.

They're the ones who came up with an official canon in the first place.

Fundamentalists seem to think the Bible was just zapped from the sky one sunny day, in complete form ready for their (non?) interpretation.

This complain against the Catholic Church is therefore beyond ludicrous.

Catholics were the only Christians for the first 1,000 years of Christianity. The Catholic Church is the ONE Church founded by Jesus Christ, the Church He said was to remain ONE, the Church to which He promised "The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth", and "Whatsoever you bind upon Earth is bound in Heaven", and "He who hears you hears Me". It is the Church which compiled the Holy Bible from its own writings and for its own use, and which is the sole authoritative interpreter of its own book. Which is why it has remained ONE in belief, ONE in teaching, ONE in biblical understanding, ONE in worship throughout the world for 2,000 years, while unauthorized manmade churches which broke away from the Church Jesus founded have fragmented into thousands of conflicting denominations teaching hundreds of false beliefs, in just a few hundred years. It is the only Church which can claim to be truly Christian since all others have rejected many of the beliefs and practices of the original Christian Church, and are therefore actually semi-Christian.

The catholic church has had it's faults in the past, as has any church or institution, however it is still going strong and is still the major Christian denomination.
In my experience on this website as well as in 'real life', the catholic doctrine is generally the most non-judgemal and loving religion. In my church, we pray for everyone, including other denominations and religions. There are so many 'other' Christians on here that write such judgemental and hateful things about catholics and others that 'aren't them'. They do not realise that they're words/actions completely contradict the teachings of Jesus.

It's a form of Anti-Catholicism in which they try to convince other people that Catholics are not Christians therefore that's person (people's) denomination is regarded as being Christian in relation to Catholics not being Christians. According to the bible, there is only one Christian church on earth. It would pay you to find it, because there is a commandment in the book of Revelation that tells us ALL the other churches are false and will soon be destroyed and if you do not get out of them, you will be destroyed with them.

So far, only 8,000,000 of us have obeyed that commandment. Think about it. There is still time. God is giving you every possible opportunity.
