sin 77⁰ = x / 25
x = 25 sin 77⁰
x = 24.4 ft

A ladder that is 25 feet long leans against the side of a house.
The angle of elevation of the ladder is 77°.
Find the height from the top of the ladder to the ground.
h = 25 sin 77⁰ = 24.359...
Height o the ladder = 24.4 ft (Answer rounded to one decimal place.)

Remember the definition of the sine of an angle...opposite/hypoteneuse.
Here the hypoteneuse is the length of the ladder, and the side opposite the angle is the distance between the ground and the point where the ladder touches the wall.
Hence sin 77 = h/25, where h, in feet, is the quantity you want. Can you take it from there?
