If to be christian is to model one's self after the mythical jesus creature in the New Testament, then -- that mythical jesus creature demands that his followers not hoard wealth and not amass worldly goods, but rather, get what you need and give your excess to poor and needy people who actually need help to survive. The christian god has begun by failing to be specific as to what the rules are, every christian has their own version and there is no authoritative place to look. It helps us improve ourselves. It's not just a belief. Miracles happen. How do you explain that? How do you tell a child or a cancer patient or someone suicidal that they have NO MEANING? That one day they're just going to die and never be alive again. That they have no soul and that they're just a shell with hormones and a brain.
