8 protons and 9 neutrons

10 neutrons in the nucleus
8 electrons outside the nucleus in various energy levels (these are NOT in the nucleus)

If you wanted to take it one more step, the protons are made up of two up quarks and one down quark.

I will leave you to look up the quark composition of the neutron.

You could also include the existence of gluons, if so desired. These particles transmit the strong force, which binds the quarks together. It is collectively referred to as the gluon field. I did not look to see which specific gluons are involved with protons and neutrons.
