VGA monitors, two different cables, two difference PC's, both exhibiting exactly the same problem...?

Turns out that it IS possible (although rare) for a video card to damage the backlight activation of a monitor. It's looking like my video card did this to two monitors that no longer light up after being connected to my video card.

It sounds like your Operating System (probably Windows) is not configured correctly to use the dual monitors. This can happen if the graphics drivers are incorrectly installed. And Windows will sometimes decide to "update" from a working driver to a broken one! If you have the same version of Windows on your two PCs and they have similar graphics chips, they could easily get the same broken Windows update at the same time, explaining why neither works right now.

Go into Device Manager and check what the graphics device is listed as. If it shows an error, or it says "Standard VGA" instead of Intel/nVidia/AMD then there's your problem.

open the graphics control system [right click on the desktop away from any icon] and see how it is set up. multimonitors is NOT standard nor automatic

I have a desktop PC and a laptop PC. My main desktop PC has a DVI left monitor, and a VGA right monitor. The right monitor (VGA) quit working one day - screen goes black after 1 or 2 seconds after power on. It stays on, but no image. If I power it off, the image comes back for 2 seconds, then black again. "NO SIGNAL DISPLAYED" message does NOT appear.

Here's where it gets weird. I connected a different VGA monitor to the PC - same exact problem. Swapped VGA cables.... same problem. CONNECTED BOTH VGA MONITORS TO MY SPARE LAPTOP...SAME PROBLEM WITH BOTH MONITORS!! And with both cables. And on both PCs. What is going on here??
