No

120 goes into the followings:

* 2 with 60
* 3 with 40
* 4 with 30
* 5 with 24
* 6 with 20
* 8 with 15
* 10 with 12

And it is an even number
All even numbers above 2, such as numbers that have a 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8 on the end are not a prime number, and neither are all numbers above 5 ending in a 5
2015-12-10 12:52 pm
Come on. Every even number greater than 2 is NOT prime.
An even number ends with 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8.
2015-12-10 1:32 pm
120 is an even number.
Every even number except 2 is composite.
Hence 120 is not a prime number.
2015-12-12 7:58 pm
The ONLY even Prime Number is 2, so 120 is not prime!

Why? Because 2 (a Prime) can divide every other even number!
2015-12-15 3:05 pm
No .. it can be divided by 2 3 4 5 6 8 10 12 15 20 24 30 40 and 60.

There is a quicker way to decide that it's NOT prime :
1. It's EVEN number .. the ONLY even prime number is 2.
2. It ends with a 0 .. all numbers ending in a 0 are NOT prime.
2015-12-10 1:35 pm
No, 120 is not a prime. Numbers that end with zero can be evenly divided by 10, so 10 is a factor. Therefore, 5 and 2 are also factors. Numbers with 5 and 2 as factors are not prime.

Number 120 is composite (not prime), it has many divisors. All prime numbers has only two divisors: itself and one.

Divisors of 120 {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 24, 30, 40, 60, 120}
2015-12-12 6:37 pm
120 is not a prime number . Because A Prime number are that number that can be divide only itself and by one . like as 7 is a prime number we can't divide it by 2 ,3,4,5,6 or any other number . we can divide it only by 1 and 7 .
So that we can say that 120 is not a prime number because it can be divided by 2 , 3, 4, 5, 6, 8,10 , 12, 15 ,20,25,30,40,60 .
2015-12-10 5:18 pm
No, far from it. It is divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 24, 30, 40, 60, in addition to 1 and 120 !
2015-12-12 4:41 am
A prime number has only two divisors. Itself and one.
Lets check 120.
120*1 = 120
60*2 = 120
40*3 = 30 etc.
The answer is no 120 isn't a prime number.
2015-12-16 4:56 pm
A prime number is a number (or integer) that is divisible only by itself and 1.
Examples of prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, ...

120 is not a prime number because, other than 120 and 1, it is also divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 24, 30, 40 and 60. In other words, 120 is a composite number. :)

No, 120 is not a prime number. A prime have only two factors. The number itself and the number 1 .
120 has the factors of 1 * 120 . 2 * 60 .3 * 40 , 4 * 30 . 5 * 24 . 6 * 20 , 8 * 15 . 10 * 12

Here are some ways to tell if the number is not prime:

Any even number above 2.
Any number ending in 5, above 5.
Add the digits in the number.
If it adds to 3 or a multiple of 3, above 3.
So, 111 is not a prime number,
3,111 is not a prime number.
6,111 is not a prime number.
111,111,111 is not a prime number

So, 120 is not a prime number

No because you simply can find a number to divide it without getting any decimals. For example if you divide number 13 by 2 you get 6.5 which has decimals but if you divide 120 by 2 you get 60 which does not have any decimals. (This is not the general definition of prime number just an easy rule of thumb for you)

No, it is not a prime number.
2015-12-10 9:53 pm
No. The tell-tale sign is that it is even. Therefore it is composite. There are many other ways to find prime or composite but that is the easiest.
Happy math!

120 isn't a prime number
you can apply fundamental theory of arithmetic which is -
states that every integer greater than 1,either is prime itself or is the product of prime numbers, and that this product is unique, up to the order of the factors.
120 has many factors-
1 * 120
2 * 60
3 * 40
4 * 30
5 * 24
6 * 20
8 * 15
10 * 12

3= 3 * 1
5= 5 * 1
7= 7 * 1

2015-12-22 9:44 pm
If it's even, it automatically makes it non-prime, or covalent. The only exception to this is the number 2. The number 2 can go into every other even number, and if you've ever been to middle school, you should know what even numbers are.

no 120 is divisible by 2
2015-12-22 9:38 am
No, for a number to be PRIME, it can only be divided by the number 1 to give a whole number and itself e.g. 5 is a prime number because 5/1 = 5 (a whole number) and 5/5 = 1 (a whole number) if we divide it by any other number, say 2 then we would get 5/2 = 2.5 (because there is a decimal it's not a whole number). So to answer your question 120 can be devided by more than just 1 and 120 e.g. 120/5 = 24 (which is still a whole number) meaning 120 is NOT a PRIME number.

No. A prime number is a number that has no factors besides 1 and itself. 120 is an even number which means it is already divisible by 2. It also has a 0 in the one's place which means it must be divisible by 10 and 5. There are several other factors as well.
2015-12-20 9:09 pm
No. It ends with an even number. This means it is divisible by 2. It is also divisible by 3 because the sum of the digits in the number is divisible by 3. It is also divisible by 4 because the last 2 digits are divisible by 4. It is also divisible by 5 and 10 because the last digit is zero. It is also divisible by 6 because it is divisible by 2 and 3. It is also divisible by 8. In all it is a composite number. Please note that 5 is divisible if the last digit is 0 or 5. The list goes on and on. Plus, how old are you, that is the dumbest question I've ever seen in Yahoo! Answers. Please mark me as best answer anyway!

Can you divide 120 by anything besides one and itself? Yes, by all its factors.
2015-12-19 7:48 am
120 is NOT a prime number because it can be divided by 2, 3, 4, etc.

A prime number (or a prime) is a natural number greater than 1 that has no positive divisors other than 1 and itself. A natural number greater than 1 that is not a prime number is called a composite number.

No. Any number ending with 0 is divisible by 2 or 5. Also, any number whose digits add up to a multiple of 3 is divisible by 3 (1+2+0 = 3). Also, if the last 2 digits of the number form a multiple of 4, then the number is divisible by 4. The last two digits of 120 is 20, which is a multiple of 4 (5 * 4 + 20).

No, 120 is not a prime number. Prime numbers are only divisible by 1 and itself.
For instance, 10 is divisible by 5 and 2 to equal whole numbers, not fractions. Therefore, it is not a prime number.
However, 11 is only divisible by 1 and itself; therefore, it is a prime number.

If you understand what a prime number is you can work it out for yourself (with the use of a calculator if you must if this number is proving so difficult!)...

120 isn't a prime number
you can apply fundamental theory of arithmetic which is -
states that every integer greater than 1,either is prime itself or is the product of prime numbers, and that this product is unique, up to the order of the factors.
120 has many factors-
1 * 120
2 * 60
3 * 40
4 * 30
5 * 24
6 * 20
8 * 15
10 * 12
This theory proves that 120 isn't a prime number because it has 8 factors.but prime numbers have only 1 factor.
EX-
2= 2 * 1
3= 3 * 1
5= 5 * 1
7= 7 * 1
and so on....

No. A prime number (or a prime) is a natural number greater than 1 that has no positive divisors other than 1 and itself.
Eg. 2
3
The number 2 is a prime number because it is more than 1 and could only be divided by 1 and itself.
120 is not a prime number because it is divisible by 2,3,4,5,6,10,12,20,24,30,40 and 60.

Thus 120 is not a prime number.

120 is NOT a prime number because it has factors besides one and itself. 10, 5, 2, 3, 4, and so on.

No, 120 is not a prime. Numbers that end with zero can be evenly divided by 10, so 10 is a factor. Therefore, 5 and 2 are also factors. Numbers with 5 and 2 as factors are not prime.

no, 120 is not a prime number!
2015-12-17 11:04 am
No it is divisible by 2 3 4 5 6 8 10 12 15 20 24 30 40 and 60.

A prime number has only two divisors. Itself and one.
Lets check 120.
120*1 = 120
60*2 = 120
40*3 = 30 etc.
The answer is no 120 isn't a prime number.
2015-12-16 8:29 am
yes
2015-12-15 9:51 pm
Nope! It has more than two factors. (A number is prime if its only factors are 1 and itself.)

120 has factors:
1, 120
2, 60
3, 40
4, 30
5, 24
6, 20
8, 15
10, 12

hope this helps!! xoxo

No, it's easily (at first glance) found that 120 is divisible by 10, 5 and 2.
2015-12-13 5:22 pm
No, make a factor tree for 120.
120/2=60
60/2=30
30/2=15
15/3=5
so the factorization of 120 is 2*2*2*3*5 = 2^3*3*5

A prime number means it is only divisible by 1 and itself. So no 120 is not a prime number

120 = 2 x 3 x4 x5 , that shows it is made of already factors of 2,3,4 and 5 and each of them are prime numbers , also 120 is an even number ending with 0 , that itself rules out as a prime number , since it is divisible by 10 itself , so 120 is not a prime number

120 is not a prime number
A prime number has only two divisors. Itself and one. But 120 has more than 2 divisors.

120/1 = 120, 120/2=60, 120/3=40, 120/4=30, 120/5=24 and so on
