A motorist goes from delhi to Bharatpur a distance of 192 km at an average speed of 32 km/hr. Other men starts from delhi by car 2.5 hrs after the motorist and reached Bhagatpur 1/2 hr late . find the ratio of speeds of motorcycle to the person going by car ?
a) 1:2 b) 2: 3 c) 10: 27
please solve it
回答 (3)
motorist need 192/32 = 6 hrs
car need 6-2.5+0.5 =4 hrs ,
speed of car = 192/4 =48 km/hr
Ratio of speeds of motorcycle to the person going by car = 32 :48 = 2:3
Answer ;
b) 2:3
It took the motorcyclist 192/32 = 6 hours
to reach Bhagatpur.
The car driver, leaving 2 1/2 hr later and
arriving 1/2 hr later, took 6 - (2 1/2) + 1/2 = 4 hr.
So the rate is 192 ÷ 4 = 48 km/hr.
Thus the ratio is 32 : 48 = 2 : 3
