I was adopted in the year 2000. I just want to know what the ratio is, for every adopted child, how many kids come from their parents?

Thanks.

Adoptions reached their peak in the 1970s, at 175,000 adoptions per year. Currently there are about 125,000 adoptions per year. In total, there are about 5 million adoptees in the United States out of about 330 million Americans.

About 4% of women give up a child for adoption. It's not rare, it's the case for mililons of people, but it's not common. So about 24 to 1 odds that you're adopted.

All children "come from their parents" btw. It's just whether they're raised by their biological parents or not.

I am guessing you mean how many children are adopted from intact two-biological-parent homes. But you didn't say that. Sometimes both bio parents get arrested and then their children go into foster care and are eventually adopted. More often the kids go to live with relatives until the parents are released from jail.
