how to fix a phone scratch?

a few weeks ago I dropped my phone and now there's a fairly deep scratch. it isn't hazardous to me or the phone but it gets annoying. (I've already tried toothpaste)

A deep scratch won't polish out
unless you sand the surface first.
Polishing with an appropriate compound
(NOT toothpaste!) would then smooth up
the sanded surface.
Overall, there is no value in spending the time and effort on it.
