think only their opinion on things count, and try to impose them on the rest of us, e.g. gender, race, abortion. politics, health and many other subjects, why is there always someone who thinks they know what is better for you than you yourself.

It's the generation that came of age during the 60's/70's. What was called the "Me" generation. They are the ones in power now, they are the ones who taught the millenials entitlement and self-absorption.
