i think my friend is being abused! help?

my friend is adopted from Indonesia and her parents are divorced. her step mum on her dads side is an australian news reporter and her mum is really nice but doesnt stick up for her. Anyway when she does homework and gets quite an easy question wrong, say 7 times 3 her dad shouts and her and calls her a silly little ***** to her face! this has been going on for about 6 yrs! i think she said she has been to court about it but im not sure. anyway please help WHAT SHOULD I DO??
