I have a 13-inch MacBook Air, bought in Mid 2012, and it has a 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5 processor speed. Whenever I start up my MacBook, white horizontal lines start showing up on the screen and it disappears instantaneously. Is there any solution to fix it? Thank you

It's the same way you fix lines in the paint of a car. Take it to the shop.

Sorry to tell you this, but Apple did not add any broken screen fixer button to the computer. Only a repair shop can replace the screen.

To test the computer for hardware failure, restart while holding the option key for 45 seconds. Got lines?

"No."
Then reinstall OS X.

"Yes."
Then the screen is faulty and must be repaired.

WHY THIS TEST WORKS :

Holding option key loads the Startup Manager without loading OS X. That means any problem you see is NOT related to software.
