Whats the best plectrum thickness for playing bass?

I dont really know the differences between thicker or thiner plectrums and im really bad at playing bass with my fingers xD

I like to play alternative rock post hardcore maybe some metal here and there.
So which thickness would be better? Or is it just a matter of comfort? Thank you!

The one that works well for you. Back in the day, some of the good guys liked felt ukulele picks, quick but a "soft" hit. Best I had the pleasure of working with were finger players, fast, clean, and complex. There's huge variety, so try lots.
BTW - good on you for playing bass, without which the rest of us couldn't really rock. Hope you go far. Here's Eric Czar:

It's personal preference, whatever you find works best.

You can get oversize plectrums for bass guitar, or you may find a thickish normal one works well.

Alternatively, try a "Teckpick" - sculpted metal alloy rather than plastic, or use some "Rock tips" on your fingers to see if that makes playing easier.

(Any pick is going to give you a rather different tone to playing without one).
