dearth = 缺乏/欠缺
所以no dearth = 沒有缺乏 (反反的用詞寫法以突出後面想表達的of wried scientific stuides各種奇奇怪怪的科學研究) = 有很多奇奇怪怪的科學研究....證明都是有真確性的。

2.
testosterone是睪丸素，是醫學詞和意，沒有弦外之音。

你手指的長度可以顯示你仍在母復(子官)的胎兒時期吸收了多少睪丸素。

你問的have had to testosterone必須連前文the amount of exposure ... to來理解/翻譯，由於中文沒有'"過去完成式"have had=過去曾經...exposure接觸testosterone；所以要組合用中文文意明白的：胎兒時期 = 過去在胎兒的階段那個時間曾經(have had)；吸收 = 那時接觸了的量(amount of exposure)
