In Socialism the government decides who will be oppressed for the greater good of what they deem important for society and their own pocketbooks.

In Democrat Socialism, you get to vote for who will oppress you for the greater good of what they deem important for society and their own pocketbooks.

there is no functional difference. the right to take the profits from and control the direction of a business enterprise ["democratic socialism"] is essentially the same as outright seizing the assets and subjecting them to government management ["socialism"]

Not a wise crack, but socialism does not work. Never has. Why waste time on failed systems?

In pure socialism, everything is owned by the state. All private industry, private property, etc., is no longer in an individual person's hands. In Democratic socialism, people still own their land and their companies, but an emphasis on helping ALL citizens is predominant in the government.
