x^2 - 3x + k is a quadratic equation. K is a constant. A (alpha) and B (Beta) are the roots of the equation.

What is A^2 + 3B?

∵ α and β are the roots of x² - 3x + k = 0
Sub x = α into x² - 3x + k = 0
α² - 3α + k = 0
α² = 3α - k

α² + 3β
= 3α - k + 3β
= 3(α + β) - k
= 3(3) - k
= 9 - k
