Is the gintama anime difrent than the manga?

I've watched all the eps of gintama and was wondering if it's worth it to read the manga.

Almost the same, but I know that they didn't make some of the chapters from the comic (which are really good) to the anime because they want to make start the general's assassination chapter by the end of November
