I am 14 and I have friends around 14 to 18 years old. I have noticed that a lot of people, especially teen males, regard a woman's ass like something of great importance. Some even brag about sex and even infidelity to their friends like some achievement. Many of these people are around my age and even up to 18 years old as well.
Sometimes I do not know if this is an adolescent's hormones coming into play or they are just perverts by nature.
If this question offends you I can assume you are part of this.

And a lot of those friends are probably giving you and their friends a bunch of BS just to make them look big. All go and no show.

I think it's mostly adolescence* with a bit a of perviness thrown in.
*Teenage boys are also wont to say things like "I got some last weekend" or "she was really good, if you know what I mean..."
