Humans are animals. Humans commit sin. Therefore, at least some animals commit sin.

Animals do not sin, they are innocent. Tigers kill for food because when they see a deer, they are basically seeing a mouthwatering hamburger with cheese on top.
2015-11-03 11:45 pm
No. Animals have no other choice but to be who they are. They have instinct, but cannot change.
2015-11-04 12:47 am
Commiting sin is deciding to do something which you know or think is against God's will/wrong, so NO animals do not sin, they act on instinct alone.

Part of what being created "in the image and likeness of God" is that man has the capacity for moral choice. Animals don't have that. They don't sin because they can not premeditate

Animals that are not homo sapiens? NO they do not and can not SIN.

Do animals Commit "sin" ?

Sin defined as a Transgression against "Divine Law " so Sin is a Religious word for breaking a Law .

Divine defined as of or relating to God ............ so to commit sin one must have a God and then the god must provide the laws .

.so To commit "SIN" as defined # 1 one requires a god # 2 One requires laws from the god .......

...Well define animals .....

...LOL but as an Atheist I can not "Sin" I have no God requirement # 1 LOL

Sin in the contextual definition of the Torah is for a human to fail to do what is obligated by God or to transgress or violate a commandment of God. Humans are animals. Therefore the answer is YES.

Here is a Jewish law discussion on the notion of other animals and whether or not they're held accountable for "sin".

http://www.jlaw.com/Commentary/animalt.html It's long but quite interesting.

Sin is a creation of humans. Other animals have no idea that humans do this. Can't be a sin if they don't know about it.
2015-11-03 11:58 pm
No.
2015-11-03 11:53 pm
I don't think animals have the higher thought processes that would be required in order to be held accountable for their choices. So I'd have to say probably not.
2015-11-03 11:48 pm
Sin is not attributed to beasts. They are driven by instinct.
2015-11-03 11:48 pm
No.

Animals can misbehave. Like a dog may have vicious propensities, and maybe will need to be put down. Not because he is a "sinner," but because he is a bad dog.

They can, however, have a sense of guilt if they are well trained.

Sin doesn't exist. It's an invention of predatory religious types. So the only beings stupid enough to buy into it are christians.

No, animals do not sin. Humans are animals, and humans don't sin either. "Sin" is a hypothesis we invented long ago to explain our "moral" feelings to ourselves. All animals that live together in groups have similar feelings: love, kindness, anger, outrage at being treated unfairly, etc. Obviously, different species have these feelings to differing degrees. (Ok, to be accurate, I have to say "seem to have" these feelings. They exhibit all the signs of having these feelings, so it's a stretch to claim they don't.)

All these words: sin, good, evil, justice, deserve, etc., etc., are terrible hypotheses that provide misleading explanations and misleading predictions. It makes sense they would be terrible, given that they came into being in the distant past, when people had no clue about human psychology. It's time we discarded these notions and the vulgar, judgmental, punishment/reward morality that supports them. We need to craft a new morality, based on compassion, reason, and good science.

Yes, if and when they make mistakes - To sin is to error or miss the mark - It is how we all learn - You continue to make the mistake until you have learned what is the best patah.

Sin is a spiritual matter. Heaven and hell are only for spirits, not for human beings and other creatures. Spirits are separate elements. Animals live 100% under the control of the spirits, but humans are not. Humans have the power of making choices. They get the spirits according to their choices. Animals cannot do sin themselves. They are directly controlled by the spirits and therefore the entire fault falls on the spirits. But in humans' matters there is some difference. Though the spirits are responsible for the act human beings must face the consequences.

God cannot watch each and every human being at the same time. That's why He had created the spirits to watch, guide and determine the destiny of the human beings from their daily activities, talks and thoughts too. Your past determines your present and your present determines your future. God has given freewill to all creatures including human beings. According to this, all human beings have all right to live a life as they wish. But if it happens to be bad and hurts someone, they have to face the consequences. These consequences are created by spirits. It's a natural system. After death no one lives in any form. Heaven and hell are only for spirits. Spirits are separate elements. A human being is not a single spirit. A human being during his/her life time is living with many spirits which have joined one by one since birth. They are knowledge, skills, feelings, emotions, interests and everything. Even thoughts are not your own. When you want to take a decision on a subject, one after another the spirits think and you just listen, choose or reject the ideas which they transmit to your mind through your brain in the form of thoughts. A human being is just a robot made of flesh, bones, tissues etc., and a toy of the spirits for their games.

Only when possessed by a demon or a JW

"sin" is not 'committed'. Sin is error, and Man CARRIES error in his DNA, hence he dies. You CAN NOT help it. No one can. We ALL die.

If I decide to kill you unjustly and with no reason, a do not "commit" a sin. I commit a "murder" For this action, He WILL judge me, and I will NOT have a Resurrection, having to either upon His decision, go to eternal destruction, or be lift up after a certain time - 1000 years of His Kingdom - to be finally Judged either for life, or eternal destruction, with no possibility of ever living again.

Since all Mankind dies, for Him to "look" at you and do not automatically destroy you, because you (we, all) are filthy and deserve to be 'burned to be cleansed of our DNA, He looks at the Only "in-between" , His First Creation, BEFORE ALL other creatures, angels, Mountains, Man, etc. This is called His Son, created DIRECTLY by Him Himself, His "image and likeness". After His creation, ALL other creatures and things were created.

Animals are not people
2015-11-04 2:44 pm
Absolutely not. They have no idea of wrong behaviour, they act instinctively. Even a shark that kills a man is not evil - he is not doing it for anything other than his instinct to eat.

its not its call circle of life. its like Lion hunting a deer killing it there nothing wrong with that it just its his food chain. how bout human we human eat meat from other animal does that count as sin then? how about eating plant we are killing mother nature by doing that does that count as sin too?
2015-11-04 1:02 am
No. It is impossible for an animal to sin. That's why there are no laws in the Bible governing how any animal is supposed to act.
2015-11-04 12:57 am
no their not human
2015-11-04 12:38 am
No they have not developed imagined fear and the negative thought and action that most call sin , they think much the same as we do just not as much , see that wallaby left no sin , we can keep the thought and loose the sin this is what Buddha and Jesus were really on about .

Fundies do. They are the only ones who believe sin exists.

The law of Moses was imposed only on the Israelite people and subsequently on the Jews. No one else is subject to this law.
2015-11-04 12:08 am
No.Animals have no morals.
2015-11-03 11:57 pm
well, if they do the wrong thing they can wind up in the pot so to speak ...
2015-11-03 11:56 pm
Sin, singular, is the absence of spirit. Sins, plural, are mistakes, such as throwing a dart and missing the mark. The human concept of "sin" is such a mess that there is no profit in discussing it. The book of Romans carefully explains that sin no longer matters. Either you believe in Jesus and are saved, or you don't believe and are lost. Animals are just food.

Chimps have been shown to plan murders, so I guess
2015-11-03 11:51 pm
No, only man.
2015-11-03 11:48 pm
they have gay sex, eat even they aren't hungry, attack and kill, don't believe in god, and have premarital sex and also cheat on their baby mama, and not only do they leave there kids behind but sometimes eat them just because they looked tasty
2015-11-03 11:50 pm
In regards to the bible no they can't. The bible is meant for humans, I don't think there is one for animals. I think "sin" is more like a learning process tbh. You do something wrong you learn from your mistakes, which animals are fully capable of doing. I don't believe in God.
2015-11-04 10:00 am
Humans are "mammals", they aren't animals.
Yes animals commit sibs. Though they aren't accountable, unless tamed, the same as humans are accountable.

Generally, an animal lives in a different environment than people live, nor are they able to talk in a language that people can understand. Animals sin only became people have taught them to sin. The heart and mind of every animal and reptile remains pure regardless of what people have caused animals to do.

Weird question but weird answer Yes. An animal can be possessed by demons and in that state can sin
