I dont mean abuse like physical i mean it as if everytime i get to work he has some sort of issue with me and tries firing me over things i didnt do. he literally gets away with doing nothing and im his assistant manager. i work at burger king. and i wish to move up but i dont think that will happen if hes my boss . i work already 10x harder then he does and get no appreciation only disrespect and a constant threaten to lose my job. which i take very seriously. is there anything legally i can do or any advice on to how to approach this situation. i want him gone . he doesnt do anything ive asked the other managers and workers and they all tell me to start a petition . so thats why im here asking what i should do . any questions ask

ONLY when the boss is breaking the law. Otherwise, you're going to be viewed as whiner. Just find another job. In corporate work like Burger King, that can be simple as transferring to another store.

Don't do this - it's professional suicide.
Either try for the same position at another store, or another restaurant.
It's well known that fast food can be a tough environment and thankless, so if you look for a smaller restaurant group or just a different chain, you may do far better.

Be careful not to badmouth him, just say you are looking for more opportunity. A good businessman will see a hard worker - you know as well as anyone that no one survives for long in fast food if they're lagging behind.

trying to deal with where you are won't likely work- and he will make things much worse for you if you do. It's just not the only place to eat in town, or on earth - your success and happiness lies elsewhere. Go find it - quickly and quietly.

There's a reason he's a boss and you're not. You can in fact be fired for any reason or no reason.

I would try and find a different store to work at - whining to HR will not look good when it comes time to move up. Just sayin.

Only report a bad boss to HR when you've got lots of documentation that he/she has been mistreating you and you've tried to talk to your boss directly. Keep a detailed log of every incident and the time it happened and get other colleagues to do the same and go to HR with you.

Remember, HR works for the company, not you and simply calling them about a bad boss will likely get you fired or demoted.

You can try to talk with Human Resources about him, and see what you can do about it. My feeling is that you're probably not going to get far with them. My suggestion is that you should look for new locations that you can go where you can go up to management. Good luck, I would still talk with HR, but just don't expect a lot from them.

Be very careful going over his head. You never know who he is buddy-buddy with.
Remember it would be a lot easier to replace you than it would be to replace him.
So, go ahead and go to HR, but do so at your own risk.

The first time it happens.

You need to go to his boss or H.R. and tell them what you told us. It would help if you kept a journal of all the things he does for about two weeks before going, and then take the journal with you. Try to make the entries factual, not emotional.
