I'm not a huge hockey fan but i've seen people who have been hit with baseball which i know can be very painful. But have you or someone you know ever been hit with a hockey puck? How does it feel?

and did you or the person you know have pain for a long time?

Oh yeah. While playing, not spectating. I got hit in the chin and it split my chin open. Thankfully a few stitches fixed me up. I have a little scar there now years later. It hurt a lot and knocked me off my feet when it happened but nothing ice, tylenol and time didn't help

You are pretty padded up in hockey and most of the time when i have gotten hit by a puck it is in the back of my leg in my calf area. The people i play with cant shoot nearly as hard or fast as the nhl but it hurts a lot. It stings and feels like someone hit you with a rock.

I used to play hockey so yes I have been hit by the puck lots. It gives you a nice bruise even with equipment on.

This would depend on where you get hit. I have been hit in the stomach with a slap shot and didn't hurt at all (wasn't using chest protector). Getting hit in the tongue of the skate is probably the worst. I now use shot protectors for that reason. If you get hit in the pads, it usually doesn't hurt or if it does it is more of a light pain. SN - If you are just starting hockey when someone is going for a shot, NEVER turn. Always stay facing the shot.

I have been hit by pucks many times. It depends on the type of shot. A slap shot is the worst. One time I got hit in the eye by a slap shot and it hurt for about a week and I had a black eye. I have also gotten hit in the back and got a bruise, but I did not notice it that much. Slap shots feel like a sting at first and then it gets sore with bruising. I did not have any padding so I felt more pain. I have been hit by a wrist shot which did sting but not as bad as the slap shot. From any somewhat powerful shot, it will most likely hurt and you will get a bruise with no padding. With padding, you will feel the shot but it won't hurt as bad. If it is super powerful it will hurt a tad and maybe some bruising.

About the same as a baseball. Although, it's harder and smaller, so the force delivered is more. If it hits a pad, thank God. If it doesn't break a bone, it goes away about five minutes later.

A girl I talk to was hit with a hockey puck maybe a month ago? It was her finger and she needed stiches. Her finger looked pretty bad with doctors needing to drill something through her little nail left or something. Now she is able to play after about a month but still is required to play with her finger wrapped.
