How would YOU spell Kaitlin?

Normally I would have said Caitlin but the former Bruce Jenner has ruined it for me so I like either Kaitlin or Katelyn better now.

The original spelling is Caitlin. Anything else is a variation. But the American pronunciation (Kate-Lin) is technically incorrect. It's an Irish name which in Ireland should be pronounced more like cawtch-leen, and the English or American equivalent of the name would be Kathleen. The name pronounced as Ms Jenner pronounces it came about when English speakers saw the spelling of the name, thought it looked pretty and pronounced it phonetically, literally, as a native English speaker would, one with no knowledge of the Irish language.

The technical way to spell the name is Kaitlyn. It is a derivative of the original name Katherine, but has been altered and shortened. There are several different ways of spelling it. I think Caitlin is a beautiful form myself. There is Katilyn, Caitlyn, Kaitlin, etc. However you want to spell it really. And in Spanish it is Catalina.
