The quantity of matter contained in a body is known as mass.
Hope that helps
Have a good day 😃😃
It has several meanings. Like the fat girl at the end of the bar, or the bouncer grabbed me and threw me out. Then there is Sunday Mass.
There are two definitions. Both are relative to other objects or a standard mass. One is the amount of force acting on the object in a gravitational field (compared to an object of standard mass in the same location). The other is the amount of acceleration of the object induced by a standard force.
If you want the short definition, then you can say that
"Mass is the Inertial changes of the object"

In physics mass is defined as the measure of inertia. Inertia is what makes a moving object to keep moving. In chemistry mass is used as a measure of the quantity of a substance.
Catholic church service 😀
The shortest answer I can come up with is that Mass defines the amount of space ANY item takes up ANYWHERE.
Mass is a physical quantity , which influences the forces .
Material, when inserted in a gravitational field, will accelerate.
Measure of mutual gravitational attraction between 2 bodies OR amount of matter in a body.SI unit is kilogram(kg).
There can be a number of definitions -
- Mass is the amount of matter contained in an object.
- The mass of a body is a constant quantity which doesn't change with location and is not effected by gravity.
- Measured in kilograms (kg).
- The mass of an object measures the force of inertia on it - the larger the mass, the greater the force of inertia on it.
u mean rest mass or mass when a body's moving?
Weight divided by gravity
Mass is a resistance to acceleration.
Or the amount of matter in a body.
Its the amount of matter found in a substance and can be defined using kilograms
Depends if you want to define inertial mass, gravitational mass or mass-energy.
There isn't one. Sounds like your referring to a specific concept mentioned by a particular author or something.
Amount of matter in an object.
1.large body of matter with no definite shape
or
2.amount of matter in an object
or
3.majority of
Amount of matter or substance in a body
instead of 40 words for one word ... maybe long defines and less words are the way to go? anyway mass can be defined as anything not under laws or creation that is caused an equal and opposing force ... mass is whole as weight can become from anything ... as you get bigger time is slower and in vice versa if smaller then feels SOOOOO long like right now does but anyway ... something can be heavy yet created and weight in opposition to mass when nowhere in contest?
The matter quantity of a substance?
Mass is a place where we go celebrate Jesus and his dad and includes the red and the White foods
Since Mass has no weight in space, you need to use another reference for it. Like speed. A 10-ton object needs the same amount of 'power' to bring it to a stop if it rolling along a highway, or drifting in space.
If you watch the old 'Star Trek' shows they refer to other planets as having 'x' amount of tons mass. There is no way they can weigh it, they scan for elements and determine there 'weight' with Earth gravity as a norm.
Hope this helps
Mass means the majority of something ( example: The mass of our students are licensed drivers. ) or a typically large body of matter without a definite shape ( example: He had a mass of curly hair. ). I hope this helps.
