What do employment agencies gain by advertising jobs that don't actually exist?
I've being applying for jobs since my last permanent role was deleted and I had to leave in January.
Since then I've sent my cv to loads of agencies in response to a particular ad and mostly they don't come back to me.

Probably just trying to attract more people to register with them.
You have to call them regularly too after you register with them and see if they have any positions for you.
they haven't responded because they don't think you're right for the position. why is that so hard to understand?
Just because you never hear back from the recruiters doesn't mean the jobs don't exist. More than likely, the positions have been filled. You either weren't qualified or they received your resume after they hired someone else.
Maybe you should have a professional resume writer look yours over & help you re-write it. Those people know how to write a resume so that employers actually read it before determining if they will offer you an interview.
