I tole my dad I didn't want to live with him, he said no, now what?

I don't want to live with my dad and I have a court order that says I have to live with him during the week and my mom on the weekends. My dad was always threatening me by saying if you don't want to be here go live with your mom. So I finally took him up on his offer and said I don't want to live with you anymore. He told me no. I'm really confused. I know why I don't want to live with him and yes they are perfect reasons. What do I do now? Do I ask him again? I'm a senior in high school and I'm 16. No I don't want to tough it out for another year. I live in Florida. Do I have the right to choose no matter what he says?

I can give you the law in Texas. Once you're 14 in Texas, you can choose which parent you want to live with, and the court will accept whatever decision you make. How long ago was the court order issued? Was it issued before you were 14? You might want to call the family court and ask the clerk whether the court order still applies since you're 16.

i think you have a right to choose which parent you want to live with so i would talk to your mom about it and she might be able to work it out

You should cut back to just 2 days a week with your Dad. That way, you don't have to spend as much time with him, but you guys still get to see each other.
