Can you get herpes if your friend has them?

If she has HSV1 which causes cold sores and fever blisters then that is possible. If you share drinks or utensils with her while she has a cold sore or fever blisters. When she doesn't have a break out she is less likely to pass it on.
Genital herpes isn't passed that way.
