My dog doesn't seem to stop knocking over the bin even though we smack her. Is there another option? to stop her?

1) feed her better. Sounds like a starving dog that's being fed crappy dog food with no real meat and made mostly of corn.
2) put the garbage can in a cabinet with a secure latch on it - the kinds that keep babies/toddlers out
3) train your unruly dog

For one stop smacking her,two take the bin away.

Put it inside the cupboard if you're talking about the one in the kitchen, or get a locking one.

Put it in a place she can't get to, like in a cabinet.
