You can make it in most places if you have the dedication. However life is too short to have sufficient dedication for everything, so you could have money, or a life or a family, but it is damn hard to have everything.

The US does not accept everybody as an immigrant. You have to either have an US citizen close family member sponsoring, a skill they need (usually means you have a PhD), lots of money (you can buy a greencard for a million dollars) or you need to be international famous.

It doesn't matter quite as much, but you will encounter people who have prejudices, not matter where you go. You have more problems if people have prejudices against you, but it is possible to overcome the problems.

Freedom is a relative term. If you are hard working and get the skills you need, you stand a chance of reaching your dreams.
But there are barriers, not the least of which are racial. In addition, in my arrogant opinion, Christians are far too powerful and obstruct personal freedom at every turn. Conservatives are also much too powerful and pervert the nation with their paranoid gun loving conspiracy nuts.

That is true of most countries and always comes down to first their education, then skills and abilities an individual has as much as their desire to work hard to achieve
