Is it possible to bake chicken with cornstarch instead of flour?

I want to make orange chicken but I don't want to fry it. So I considered baking it, my only question is would it bake correctly if I used cornstarch or would I have to use flour (or would it be better to have a combo of both?)
The reason I really want to know if this is possible with cornstarch is because I want the chicken to have a similar texture to something deep fried (like what you might get at a restaurant) but baked instead.

you don't need flour or corn starch when baking chicken. It won't ever have the texture of deep fried though

In my experience, it's difficult to create a deep fried effect in the oven. If you're trying to be more healthy or don't have a fryer, then shallow pan frying to brown the outside coating first, then finishing off in the oven ( to make sure your chicken is cooked through) works pretty well.
Or if you have to oven bake- pre-heat your oven to the hottest, and place a greased non-stick cookie sheet into the oven to heat up. Dip your chicken in the batter and drop onto your hot cookie sheet, turn after 15 mins and then turn down your oven temp to medium. Check after another 20 mins.
Should give you crispiness and cooked through chicken!

You won't get the deep fryed texture without the deep frying.

I'd roast that baby.

Try a little baking powder (NOT soda) mixed with salt. It dries out the skin and makes it crispy.
