Look into truck driving or construction work.

Calif prison industries authority (Cal P.I.A.) working for the state of Calif. will hire a felon as long as your honest about your crimes on your application

I think it depends on the felony and if it was violent/non-violent/drug-related, etc. My friend's ex is a felon and also has his bartending license and is employed as a bartender.
