How to get into RPG games?

I'm pretty new to the genre, I didn't like the Mass Effect series because I find the gameplay pretty generic and the missions I felt it was like getting a bunch of people to like you, I coun't get into Fallout 3 is too much glitchy I'm on PS3 and didn't the Final Fantasy series because I find the character design too over the top, but I enjoy Valkyria Chronicles, Nier and Demon's Souls as far RPGs go, how can I go about it to enjoy the genre and invest more in it?

Elder Scrolls, Jade Empire, Knights of the Old Republic are some good options.

No need to force yourself into it. I tried, but found rpg wasnt my thing. If you like rpgs then youd natrally just play them. I get really into pokemon, but I wont touch final fantasy.

Well, you could try games by Bethesda. They are really good, and they can be much better if you play on a PC if you even have one. If you haven't tried any other Elder Scrolls game, you could try Skyrim. Oblivion is a good one as well, but it is really old.
