Which US Presidents don't have a monument in Washington, DC?
回答 (6)
Since technically there is only the Washington monument that means every other president does not have a Monument there
Most are going to be memorials. I will list the Monuments first followed by Memorials:
Monument
Washington Monument
Memorials:
Lincoln Memorial
Jefferson Memorial
The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial
There are other memorials there, but they are not for presidents. So as you see, there is only ONE monument for a president of the United States of America in Washington, D.C.
As Darren said, only a few have full-fledged monuments. There are plans to build one in honor of Dwight Eisenhower. There are also several presidents who were honored by having buildings named after them: the Library of Congress, for instance, has buildings named for John Adams, James Madison, and Thomas Jefferson. There's a Teddy Roosevelt Island (with statue) park in the Potomac. Over the objections of many people in Arlington (where it is located), National Airport was named Reagan Washington Airport some years ago.
For most of the others, there are no monuments or significant buildings named after them in Washington, DC. Most of the others have something to honor them in their home town (for instance, the Woodrow Wilson Home and Museum in Staunton, Virginia).
Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson and F.D.R. have monuments. JFK has an eternal flame in Arlington Cemetery. I believe those are the only true Presidential monuments in Washington.
