AMERICAN HEALTHCARE?
I don't fully understand how your healthcare system works.
Does your employer pay for it? And if he does, do you get less money every month?
What happens if you don't have a job? Do you pay the insurance every month by yourself? How much? I know there are milions of people without insurance, is that true? So do they die if they get a serious illness?
Sorry if any of these questions seemed stupid to you! ☺
Thanks!

Like most countries some employers offer health insurance as part of the package of employment
You pay Private Health Insurance........ for those who don't work or low incomes a benefit of a medicare card.
.......and yes private insurance doesn't always cover everything that might happen, people die because they get cancer or they need a kidney transplant and can't afford to pay, people sell their homes, raise money in charity events to enable them to have treatment or pay for any on going treatment
1: Employers may pay for some or all of your monthly insurance premium. If they cover some, the rest is usually deducted from your paycheck.
2: If you don't have a job, there are subsidies or medicaid.
3: If you get sick without insurance, you have to go to the emergency room for treatment. They will give you an enormous bill after, and it will likely bankrupt you.
4: There are still millions of people in the US with no insurance, but about 15 million less than before the ACA passed.
I cover all of my employees insurance in full, without deducting anything from their pay.
Very few employers provide health insurance free of charge. You pay for it through work. If you are unemployed, you are responsible for insurance yourself. It's very expensive. Yes, there are a lot of people without insurance or underinsured. There is government funded Medicaid for the hard core poor. If you get sick without insurance, you just do without....and die.
